There was a time when Bermuda stamps were almost unobtainable. This happened for about 20 years beginning in the 1980's when a group of collectors chased after them - especially the King George V and King George VI keyplates. These collectors published a newsletter - "Bermuda High" and met several times a year at various shows in New York, Toronto, and even Chicago when the World Columbian Exposition was held there.

I had the pleasure to meet many of them and learn from them as collectors. It was a fun time, and really made me interested in collecting the stamps of Bermuda. As a result of this, I have had many of my King George V and King George VI stamps expertized by the members - especially Bob Dickgiesser. These stamps are still in my collection and form the basis of how I evaluate Bermuda stamps.

My Bermuda collection is organized based on the research I was able to obtain. Unless there is a better source, the Commonwealth Five Reigns Catalogue which was published by Bridger & Kay in 1980 was used. Other sources were Morris Ludington's "Bermuda The 1910-36 'Ship" Type Stamps" published in 1955 by Junior Philatelic Society to organize the two Caravel sets issued under King George V; "The King George V High Value Stamps of Bermuda, 1917-1938" by Myles Glazer for the King George V Keyplates; "Bermuda Specialized Catalogue" published by the Bermuda Collectors' Society for the King George VI lower values; and "King George VI Large Key Type Stamps of Bermuda, Leeward Islands, and Nyasaland" by Bob Dickgiesser and Eric Yendall for the King George VI Keyplates.

The pages are from my collection, and are identified based on the information from the various sources listed above. The Commonwealth, Gibbons and Scott numbers are included next to the link so you can associate the stamps with the catalog you use. The page images were scanned in a larger size and at a higher resolution so you can more easily see the details used in viewing them.
