The St, Vincent King George VI stamps were printed from 1938 until about 1952. There were two different sets that used the same relative designs. A 1938 set, and a 1949 set that was needed due to the change in currency from sterling to dollars. Like the St. Lucia set, this one has never caught on with collectors. This is probably because the stamps were printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson and as a result, they are pretty consistent. There are subtle color changes, but most of the difference will be found in comparing the paper and gum.

My reference for this set is a King George VI Collectors Society issue number 80 produced by Frank Saunders in 1974. Mr. Saunders covers the various printings and includes his observations on the paper and gum as well as the colors of the issues. If you join the Society, you can order a complete digital set of the back issues including this one. It is well worth the money if you are studying the King George VI issues.

The 1949 set is identified by the Commonwealth, Gibbons, and Scott numbers in that order.
